Living Canvas Tattoo

Cool vibes, looking forward to getting my tattoos here soon!!

So, during my tattoo I didn't move or make many sounds so the tattoo artist (sorry I can't remember her name) asked me if the pain level was ok, I said it was and she asked me if I was one of those wierd people who enjoyed pain. I of course lied and said no, being a terrible liar she called my bluff and the conversation progressed to sci fi books and she mentioned a book which was set in a future setting where there was an implant that was used as a form of control, it turned from normal sci fi to BDSM erotic sci fi. Anyway I really want the name of the book because it was a good book and I cannot find it anywhere. I've had some terribly awkward conversations with book shop owners which I would very much like to avoid in the future. So hit me back if you can think of the books name or author. Thanks.
